President Vahagn Khachaturyan received physicist, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yuri Hovhannisyan
The President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received physicist, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yuri Hovhannisyan and Special Representative of the RF President on International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy. The meeting was attended by participants and organizers of the Super-heavy Nuclei and Atoms international conference dedicated to Yuri Hovhannisyan's 90th anniversary.
The President of the Republic of Armenia congratulated the prominent scientist on his anniversary wishing him good health and new scientific achievements.
President Vahagn Khachaturyan attached importance to the initiative of organizing international conferences and seminars in Yerevan and expressed his readiness to support such projects to the extent possible.
During the meeting, a wide range of issues related to strengthening and expanding the scope of Armenian-Russian scientific and cultural cooperation were discussed.
The parties touched upon exercising the existing potential in high technologies, agriculture and other areas of science, and forming a substantive cooperation agenda.
Concluding the meeting, an agreement was reached to hold international multi-disciplinary conferences and joint cultural events in Armenia on regular basis.
In this regard, President Khachaturyan highlighted the preservation and development of the best traditions of Armenian-Russian cooperation in the areas of culture, science, education among others.
