President Vahagn Khachaturyan received opera singer, RA People’s Artist Barsegh Tunamyan
Today, President Vahagn Khachaturyan received prominent singer and cultural figure, RA People’s Artist Barsegh Tumanyan.
The President noted that as a long-time fan of the world-famous singer, he has always appreciated his exceptional career on the most prestigious international stages, his cooperation with prominent artists and the experience and connections he has acquired over the years.
“Today, when speaking about the development of the Republic of Armenia, we attach importance to people, and you are one of those people representing us and our culture in the best way with your activity and talent. We also appreciate the fact that you stood by the state during the first years of independence and led your creative activities in the Motherland, in the meantime performing on various stages of the world,” noted Vahagn Khachaturyan.
Barsegh Tumanyan expressed his gratitude for the reception and highlighted that his activities are rooted in the principles of preserving the best traditions of the Armenian culture and making it known worldwide.
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues related to the revival of the origins of national culture and matters of cultural policy.
They emphasized the important role of the formation of the national concept of culture in increasing national resilience and international reputation. The prominent musician noted that the best way of presenting ourselves to the world is the preservation and popularization of our cultural identity and peculiarities.
The sides also touched upon the issues in the Armenian cultural environment, especially in opera singing, and ways to solve them.
The President expressed his readiness to support the initiatives and projects aimed at the development of classical music and the country's cultural life to the extent possible.
