The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Moldova to Armenia Valeriu Chiveri presented his credentials to President Vahagn Khachaturyan
The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Moldova to Armenia Valeriu Chiveri (residence in Kyiv) presented his credentials to President Vahagn Khachaturyan.
Welcoming the newly appointed Ambassador, the President congratulated him on his appointment and wished him success.
“Taking into account your decades-long diplomatic experience, I am sure that your appointment will truly contribute to the development of relations between our countries. I assure you that within the framework of my powers as the President of Armenia, I will fully support you in the development of cooperation between our countries,” noted President Vahagn Khachaturyan.
Valeriu Chiveri expressed his gratitude for the reception and noted that he will do his utmost to develop Armenian-Moldovan cooperation. “The relations and friendship of our peoples have a centuries-old history. I will try to make my contribution to the further development and prosperity of those relations,” said the Ambassador.
During the meeting, President Vahagn Khachaturyan presented details on the regional developments and the general situation to the newly appointed Ambassador. In his speech, the President touched upon the blockade of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan, as a result of which, about 120000 citizens of Nagorno Karabakh are facing a threat of humanitarian crisis. He stressed that despite the decision of the European Court of Human Rights regarding the unblocking of the Lachin Humanitarian Corridor, Azerbaijan continues to keep it blocked.
During the meeting, the sides touched upon the activation of mutual high-level official visits and parliamentary diplomacy. They attached importance to the matter of having Armenia’s diplomatic mission in Moldova, which is now involved in the agenda of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
