President Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Chairman-in-Office of the OSCE Bujar Osmani
President Vahagn Khachaturyan received the delegation led by the Chairman-in-Office of the OSCE, Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia Bujar Osmani.
Welcoming the guest, the President said: “I am sure that your visit will have its contribution to the solution of the regional issues. Unfortunately, in a situation like this, it is impossible not to worry about the current process towards peace. Taking into consideration the activity of the OSCE and our long experience of working together, we are sure that the OSCE has its role in the resolution of the issues in our region.”
Expressing his gratitude for the reception, Bujar Osmani noted in his speech: “This is my first visit to this part of the world, my first visit to Armenia. Today I am here as the Chairman-in-Office of the OSCE to take stock on the state of play of the long-standing relationship between the OSCE and Armenia, and I can say there has been valuable and productive cooperation, based on mutual trust. I am also here to open a new reinvigorated chapter of cooperation in these changed geopolitical circumstances.”
During the meeting, the President presented Armenia’s approaches and opportunities for solving the regional issues to the Chairman-in-Office of the OSCE. Vahagn Khachaturyan highlighted that Armenia is decisively on the path to achieving sustainable peace in the South Caucasus and establishing good relations with the neighboring countries.
The interlocutors discussed matters on the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh issue, the humanitarian crisis resulting from the illegal blockade of the Lachin Humanitarian Corridor, and the mechanisms for protecting the rights and security of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh.
Touching upon the settlement of the conflicts, Bujar Osmani noted that the OSCE and, particularly, North Macedonia have solid experience in solving such issues and are ready to share their experience.
