President Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Ambassador of Estonia to Armenia Riina Kaljurand

President Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Estonia to Armenia Riina Kaljurand.

Welcoming the guest, President Khachaturyan congratulated her on Estonia’s Independence day.

Touching upon the perspectives of Armenian-Estonian cooperation, the President noted:

“There are no circumstances impeding the development of our relations. I believe that we need to think of developing them even further, we need to use all the existing opportunities, which are quite wide. During my latest visit to Estonia, all the meetings were held in a warm atmosphere. I want to address my special gratitude to the President of Estonia and all the high-rank officials that I met. I am sure that we will continue the tradition we’ve already started and will create more opportunities for meetings because in this sense human relations become very useful.

Once again, my congratulations on Estonia’s Independence Day. I wish the people of Estonia new achievements and success.”

Expressing her gratitude for the reception, Ambassador Riina Kaljurand noted that the Visit of the President to Estonia has significantly boosted the rapprochement of relations and the deepening of cooperation between the two countries.

“Thank you, Mr. President. I am truly honoured to be here today. As you rightly pointed out, it has been a very long time since we had high-level visits between our countries and your visit was highly appreciated by our side and our President. It was a reboost of bilateral relations and I think has had a positive effect on relations between all institutions,” noted Ambassador Kaljurand.

During the meeting, the sides discussed a wide range of questions dedicated to the deepening of friendly relations between Armenia and Estonia and cooperation in the fields of mutual interest.

The sides also touched upon the general situation, the issue of the blockade of the Lachin Humanitarian Corridor and the interim judgement the International Court of Justice rendered in that regard. Both sides highlighted the imperative to restore the normal operation of the humanitarian corridor.
