President Vahagn Khachaturyan received Tigran Hekekyan, the founder and president of the “Little Singers of Armenia” choir and the director of the music school after Sayat-Nova.
During the meeting, Maestro Hekekyan presented to the President the creative events and concerts included in the “Little Singers of Armenia” choir’s agenda in the current year. Maestro Hekekyan also noted that in the upcoming year, it is the 90th anniversary of the foundation of the music school after Sayat-Nova, which is a momentous event for the history of Armenian music, and the school should be properly prepared for the jubilee events.
During the meeting, Tigran Hekekyan also touched upon the issues impeding the creative activity of the “Little Singers of Armenia” choir and the ways of solving them, as well as the importance of building conditions necessary for the choir's normal activity.
President Khachaturyan highlighted that he will eagerly support the implementation of the creative programs of the choir that plays an important role in the popularization of Armenian music.
At the end of the meeting, the sides reached an agreement to meet once in the near future and to continue working discussions on the solution of problems in the field.
