“Armenia’s 10 best sportsmen” awarding ceremony took place at the Residence of the President
This evening, the ceremony of awarding the 10 best sportsmen of 2022 was held at the Residence of the President with the participation of President Vahagn Khachaturyan.
The Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan, ESCS Deputy Minister Karen Giloyan, the Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Armenia Hrachya Rostomyan and representatives of the sports world were present at the ceremony.
Summing up the sports year, ESCS Deputy Minister Karen Giloyan presented the outstanding achievements of Armenian sportsmen throughout the year, as well as touched upon the state efforts aimed at the development of sports, and the plans for the construction and reconstruction of sports schools in the upcoming year.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan delivered a congratulatory speech, noting that the government will continue to promote the development of sports in Armenia as much as possible.
Congratulating the 10 best sportsmen, President Vahagn Khachaturyan handed out the awards. In his speech, the President particularly said:
“I am a big sports fan. I have been in sports my entire life. I was born and raised in such a family. I can tell different sports episodes starting from the 1968 Mexico City Olympic Championship.
I am proud that thanks to you, we could stand with our heads high and our backs straight during this tough year, taking pride in your success.
I thank you all for supporting the honour of our state, the Republic of Armenia, in different corners of the world.”
