The newly appointed Ambassador of Egypt to Armenia Serenade Soliman Gamil presented her credentials to President Vahagn Khachaturyan.
President Khachaturyan congratulated the Ambassador and wished her productive work and success.
“Egypt has always had an important role in our history and still remains of great importance, and we are obliged to maintain and develop our relations,” noted the President, emphasizing that the visit of the President of Egypt to Armenia next year will be a good incentive for our cooperation.
Expressing her gratitude for the reception Ambassador Serenade Soliman Gamil noted that she is greatly honoured to represent the Republic of Egypt in Armenia and to make her contribution to the development of the centuries-old relations between Armenia and Egypt.
During the meeting, the newly appointed Ambassador expressed her gratitude to the President for his participation in the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in November.
The President touched upon the current contacts between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the opportunities and impediments on the way of establishing peace in the region, attaching importance to the presentation of objective reality regarding regional developments to the representatives of partner countries.
Speaking of the possibilities of cooperation on international platforms, the newly appointed Ambassador expressed her eagerness to support the establishment of peace in the South Caucasus as much as possible.
