Today, President Armen Sarkissian received the newly appointed Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Armenia Natia Natsvlishvili.
President Sarkissian congratulated Natia Natsvlishvili on assuming the mission in Armenia and expressed confidence that the effective cooperation with the UNDP will continue and be further strengthened.
Natia Natsvlishvili noted that it is a pleasure to work in a country, with which UNDP has a strong partnership.
During the meeting, President Sarkissian and Natia Natsvlishvili exchanged views on the directions of cooperation. Emphasizing that every cooperation should be aimed at the future, President Sarkissian stressed the importance of developing spheres with great potential for our country. "Countries like Armenia should focus on the spheres that are the locomotive for the further development of the state," he said, highlighting the spheres of science, education, high technologies and innovations.
The interlocutors agreed that implementing correctly targeted programs will significantly influence the development of the country; they stressed the need for further effective cooperation as well.
