Armenia and Malta can cooperate in some areas of common interest. The newly appointed Ambassador of Malta to Armenia presented his credentials to President Sarkissian

Today, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malta to the Republic of Armenia George A. Said Zammit (residence in Valletta) presented his credentials to the President of the Republic Armen Sarkissian.

The President of the Republic congratulated the newly appointed Ambassador on his important mission and expressed confidence that due to his work, the bilateral relations, which have great potential, will be further improved. Pwa

Ambassador George A. Said Zammit assured that he would do his best to establish active interstate relations.

The interlocutors noted that Armenia and Malta have many areas of common interest and can successfully cooperate, particularly in the fields of digitalization, education, science, technologies, and banking system, exchanging their experience and knowledge. President Sarkissian considered the Malta experience in water resources management important for Armenia.

It was noted that human capital is crucial for both countries, which are not rich in natural resources.

Touching upon the close historical ties between the two peoples, President Sarkissian said that it is a rich study material for historians and researchers, which can reveal additional information about the cooperation of the Crusaders and the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia.
