Today, the President of the Republic Armen Sarkissian met with the Speaker of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan.

Once again, President Sarkissian congratulated the NA Speaker on commencing the work of the National Assembly of the eighth convocation, and noted that in this responsible and difficult period for the state, the National Assembly will contribute to the solution of the challenges and problems facing our country.

Considering that under the conditions of the parliamentary system of governance, the National Assembly has a great role to play, and quite a lot of work is expected, the interlocutors attached importance to the activities of the parliament both in the legislative sphere and in parliamentary diplomacy.
