Germany will continue to stand firmly by Armenia. President Frank-Walter Steinmeier sent a congratulatory message to Armen Sarkissian
The President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier sent a congratulatory message to the President of the Republic Armen Sarkissian on Armenia’s Independence Day.
The congratulatory message particularly says:
"A year after the war broke out in the fall of 2020, the memory of those painful weeks overshadows today's celebrations. There are many challenges that Armenia now faces after the ceasefire signed in November 2020. At the same time, the peaceful and transparent parliamentary elections in June inspire optimism that Armenia will face these challenges constructively and with new vigour.
Germany will continue to stand by Armenia, supporting further state and public reforms. In addition, the Federal Government will continue to do its utmost to support the efforts for a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group under the auspices of the Co-Chairs.
I wish that under your leadership your country and compatriots successfully overcome the pandemic. I add my personal wishes to you and your family to my best wishes to the Armenian people."
