President of the Republic Armen Sarkissian sent a letter of condolences on the death of the People's Artist of the Republic of Armenia Vilen Galstyan.

"I learned with deep sorrow about the death of the great Armenian ballet dancer and choreographer, People's Artist of Armenia Vilen Galstyan. Vilen Galstyan's ballet activity was a whole creative era, which enriched both local and world ballet. The art and mastery of this fascinating soloist and talented director were admired both at home and on famous world stages.

The brilliant ballet characters created by Vilen Galstyan, the secrets of which he passed on to his students for many years, will forever remain in the history of Armenian dance and ballet.

I offer my condolences and send my words of consolation to the family of the outstanding artist, his relatives and fans of his art."
