We must have the courage to accept the bitter reality, evaluate our mistakes and move forward. President Armen Sarkissian received representatives of the “Alternative” Research Centre
President Armen Sarkissian received the team of the “Alternative” Research Centre, headed by Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Tatul Manaseryan.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the current situation in the country, its challenges and the solutions to overcome the situation.
Speaking about the current crisis and the painful casualties we suffered during the war, President Sarkissian stressed that as people and state we have no choice but to stand up together holding hands. He noted that to move forward, one must first soberly and accurately assess the situation and capabilities; we must realize that we have faced a number of crises; we must accept the reality and think of effective ways out.
President Sarkissian especially emphasized the importance of system solutions and institutions, noting that individuals are not able to overcome these difficulties alone. "There are no saviours. We must have a vision, a strategy, and a plan for development. We must build our state institutions through consistent hard work and discipline. That is why we must first acknowledge that we have a deep crisis, and not one, but several. We must refuse to present the wishful as reality, refrain from lying and falsifying, and throwing mud at each other with fakes. Ultimately, we must have the courage to accept the bitter reality, evaluate our mistakes and move forward with effective steps."
The President said that more than ever, he believes in the strength and spirit of our people. "We all have a responsibility to our ancestors and to our people. For centuries, our people have not had a statehood, but have been able to preserve our national values, historical heritage, language and literature, church and culture so that as a nation we could have our country and state in the future. Today, we have that state, and it is our duty to make every effort to strengthen our statehood and our institutions."
President Sarkissian noted that he had prepared a road map for overcoming the situation and offered the participants of the meeting to present their solutions. "Only together is it possible to get out of the situation, and to overcome these difficult challenges."
