President Armen Sarkissian received the Deputy Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy Manlio Di Stefano and the delegation headed by him. Highly appreciating the visit of the Italian delegation to our country in these difficult days, President Armen Sarkissian said that the support of friends is always important for Armenia.
Italy's Deputy Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation noted that the partnership and friendship between the two countries are constant. He stressed the importance of new platforms for more active interaction and cooperation.
President Sarkissian touched upon the Turkish-Azerbaijani military aggression against Artsakh and its consequences. The interlocutors exchanged views on the situation in Armenia and Artsakh after the war. In particular, they spoke about the preservation of the Armenian spiritual, historical and cultural heritage, and a number of humanitarian problems. The Italian side expressed their readiness to actively participate in the preservation of cultural heritage.
The President of Armenia and the Deputy Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy also touched on the bilateral agenda, stressed the importance of the upcoming state visit of President Armen Sarkissian to Italy, postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
