President Armen Sarkissian is ready to support the centres dealing with the prosthetics of the servicemen, injured and disabled during the war. The President hosted a group of French doctors
President Armen Sarkissian hosted a group of French doctors on a humanitarian mission in Armenia, who are showing assistance to the military and civilians, injured during the war.
President Sarkissian thanked the doctors for standing by our people in this severe and difficult time, and showing medical assistance to the injured. “We must continue to make our friendship stronger and more trustworthy,” he said, emphasizing that Armenia highly appreciates France's friendship. President Sarkissian conveyed his gratitude to President Macron.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia Jonathan Lacotte, who was present at the meeting, noted that France would continue to deepen cooperation with Armenia in the field of healthcare. “In the near future, it is planned to initiate comprehensive medical cooperation between France and Armenia. Our specialists and doctors will try to show continuous support.”
Issues related to the treatment of servicemen injured and disabled in the war, their recovery, and limb prosthetics were discussed at the meeting. President Sarkissian especially praised the work of all the centres, expanding their activities in this direction, and noted that during these years, especially after the April war, they carried out immense work and still have a lot of work to do today. According to the President, taking into account the large number of the injured and those in need of medical assistance, today it is necessary to support such centres, bringing the latest technologies to Armenia, and working in cooperation to carry out the process of prosthetics of the servicemen who need such assistance on the spot. The President of the Republic noted that he is ready to fully support such centres: to create an opportunity for cooperation with similar centres and specialists of different countries, including specialists of France, and also, if necessary, to organize the local production of relevant items in the future.
The French doctors spoke about the work they have done with their Armenian counterparts these days, emphasizing that their visits will be regular and that the issue of organizing further treatment of some soldiers in France is under discussion. They especially stressed that they are impressed by the work of Armenian doctors and their high professional quality. "Armenian doctors, like Armenian soldiers, are real heroes," they said.
