President Armen Sarkissian sent a letter to the Sultan of Oman on the military actions instigated by Azerbaijan

President Armen Sarkissian sent a special letter to the Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said on the war actions perpetrated by Azerbaijan on the border with Armenia and along the line of contact with Nagorno Karabakh.

President Sarkissian noted that recently Azerbaijan has instigated another attack on the Republic of Artsakh, targeting also civilian population.

“Unfortunately, Azerbaijan’s war against Artsakh and Armenia is nothing new: for over three decades Azerbaijan has been trying to solve the Nagorno Karabakh issue through military means and erase the Armenian population from its Homeland,” the President of Armenia underscored.

He reminded that in recent months the leadership of Azerbaijan has voiced its intentions on many occasions to solve the conflict through a war.

The President of Armenia appealed to the Sultan of Oman to use his authority and connections at the international arenas to stop the bloodshed and human suffering at once.

“The conflict must and will be solved through negotiations only. It has no military solution. We proved it before, we will prove it again,” reads the final part of the President’s letter.
