António Guterres congratulated President Armen Sarkissian: your country’s engagement in the international agenda in the framework of UN activities is extremely important

On the occasion of Armenia’s Independence Day, Secretary-General of the United Nations António Guterres sent a congratulatory message to President Armen Sarkissian.

“Each member of the United Nations has its own unique culture and history, diversity which enriches our organization and our world. Your country’s engagement in the international agenda in the framework of UN activities is extremely important,” the message of the UN Secretary-General reads in particular.

Mr. Guterres noted that this year, the first year of the decade of action on Sustainable Development Goals, our joint efforts are needed to build a fair globalization which is acceptable for all, as well as to implement decisive measures to prevent climate change.

“On this issue I anticipate contribution and support of the Republic of Armenia in having a more peaceful, fair, and stable world for all,” Secretary-General Guterres noted in his message.
