I was convinced once again that our nation has countless talented children: President Armen Sarkissian participated at the “Hero of Our Times” award ceremony
In the framework of the events dedicated to the 29th anniversary of independence of the Republic of Armenia, President Armen Sarkissian on September 21, at the Zvartnots refuge-museum participated at the “Hero of Our Times” award ceremony.
In his congratulatory remarks on the occasion of Independence Day, President Sarkissian stressed as symbolic the fact that the festive day concluded with the most spectacular evening. Speaking of the award ceremony, the President said in particular, “I will leave this place with the conviction that our nation has thousands of talented people. And if that talented people are also diligent and determined, and self-confident, these people can be called heroes because they utilize their talent in the name of the Fatherland, for themselves. They are creative people.”
Underscoring that every child is born with a talent, President Sarkissian said, “the role of their parents, each of us, and state’s role is first of all the ability to disclose that talent, to help that talent flourish and make people serve with their creative talent themselves and their Fatherland.”
Before handing the “Hero of Our Time” award, the President noted that when he had opened the enveloped and saw whom he would hand the award, he recalled the words of the Primate of the Tavush Prelacy Most Reverend Father Bagrat that “heroes would come from the future.”
President Sarkissian handed the award to the co-founder of the Expper Technologies Karen Khatchikian for the creation of Robin robot and stressed that he came from the future.
Robin robot, which is working based on artificial intelligence, was created to interact with the kids undergoing treatment in hospitals and is able to convey positive emotions. President Sarkissian noted that Karen Khatchikian is a truly gifted person who has been able to unite a number of important values. “He is engaged not only in modern technologies and created a robot but also understood that the future is not only about technologies and robots, which will be operational, but human nature too should work. He added a number of significant values to his activities. One of them is the human value because the robot is working with kids; the second is again a human value because it works in hospitals; and the third is certainly technologies. Creative work based on these three pillars will undoubtedly be successful,” the President of Armenia said and suggested that Karen Khatchikian names the next robot not Robin but Karin.
The President congratulated the awardee and expressed confidence that he would have new success in the future and new awards.
