President Sarkissian spoke of the situation in Beirut and issues related to the Armenians of Lebanon: coordinated actions of the Armenian national and church structures will be a powerful support in overcoming this crisis

President Armen Sarkissian sent a letter to His Holiness Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia Aram I.

“I am shocked and feel great pain for the friendly Lebanon, brotherly people of Lebanon and our Lebanese-Armenian compatriots on the news of this enormous tragedy,” the letter of the President reads in particular. “This is not the first time that Beirut is going through an emergency situation and will overcome this calamity, too.

The alliance of the Armenian national structures and coordinated actions will also be a powerful support in overcoming this human and state crisis.”

President Sarkissian conveyed his support to His Holiness, all representatives of the clergy of Mairavank, national and church activists, all members of the Armenian-Lebanese community.

President Armen Sarkissian today discussed on the phone the situation in Beirut and issues related to the Armenian community of Lebanon with the President of the Armenian Benevolent General Union (AGBU) Berge Setrakian and representative of the ARF Bureau Hakop Ter-Khatchaturian.
