President Armen Sarkissian hosted a group of French medical workers: new page in the Armenian-French relations
President Armen Sarkissian hosted a group of French medical workers who have arrived to Armenia to help their Armenian colleagues in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
Welcoming the guests and in their person sending his words of gratitude to the friendly France, its president and people, President Sarkissian said in particular, “Armenia is going through difficult times. You have come to Armenia to help our country, to help us save lives. By being here you are not only helping patients, doctors but also the Ministry which needs to learn from your experience, your success and failures.”
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia Jonathan Lacôte thanked the President of Armenia for hospitality and noted that next week, through the assistance of the government of France, another group of medical staff would arrive to Armenia. He viewed as significant the fact that neither of the doctors, who arrived from France, have Armenian roots and will discover Armenia for the first time. “I hope that this mission will open a new page in the Armenian-French relations,” the Ambassador said. He added that the French specialists are in Armenia to share their experience and to help Armenia to overcome the existing situation.
President Sarkissian hailed the gratifying assistance of the French doctors, wished them good health and safe return to France. “We will never forget what you have done for Armenia. Please come to Armenia also after coronavirus,” the President said. “I hope that you will also make friends here. Take with you my love for the people of France and the President, who is not only my but also Armenia’s good friend.”
The French doctors noted that have already held discussions with their Armenian colleagues and spoke with them about their experience.
