Continuation of the agreement between Presidents of Armenia and Serbia, the second aircraft with Serbian assistance landed in Yerevan: assistance to the people of Armenia in difficult times is a guarantee of a good future

“Assistance to the people of Armenia in difficult times is a guarantee of a good future”: today, along with this message of the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, humanitarian assistance from Serbia reached Armenia. The second aircraft has delivered medical supplies and devises. Yesterday, as a practical extension of the agreements between the President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian and President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, the first aircraft with Serbian assistance landed in Zvartnots airport of Yerevan bringing to Armenia necessary devises and a large amount of medical supplies.

The Serbian airline sent two aircrafts to Armenia, dispatching 10 artificial lungs ventilation devises, 10 devises to monitor patients’ condition, 500 thousand surgical and 100 thousand respiratory masks, 25 thousand protective glasses, 25 thousand protective medical gear, other necessary items.

This precious load, provided as assistance to Armenia in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, is a result of the cordial relations between the President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian and President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić.
This humanitarian assistance followed the phone conversation between Presidents Sarkissian and Vučić.

Tatyana Cvetkovic, Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of Serbia in our country, assessed humanitarian assistance provided by Serbia to our country as a bright example of the excellent relations existing between the two countries. “The arrival of this aircraft, when Armenia needs it very much, is one of the most important manifestations of the friendly relations between our presidents, governments, and peoples. Until now, in Serbia too, the issue of the coronavirus pandemic was in its peak, and we totally understand what it means to fight COVID-19,” she said. “Recently, when the two presidents spoke of the phone, President Aleksandar Vučić offered assistance and help to Armenia. I am glad that only weeks after that conversation, we see the results – humanitarian assistance arriving to Armenia. It truly speaks of the nature of their official as well as personal relations.”

Assistant to President Sarkissian Gevork Melikian also underscored that such significant assistance from Serbia testifies to the friendship of the two countries. “This testifies to the deepening relations between Armenia and Serbia, in which President Armen Sarkissian has his personal contribution,” he noted and added that the assistance would be passed over to the Ministry of Health and would be used in the fight against the pandemic.
