President Armen Sarkissian initiated a series of meetings with parliamentary and out of the parliament political forces, non-governmental organizations, experts from different areas to discuss the situation conditioned by the coronavirus pandemic, its economic repercussions, and new ways of overcome this new challenges.
In this framework, President Sarkissian today met with the representative of the ARF Supreme Council of Armenia Ishkhan Saghatelian and member of the ARF Bureau Arsen Hambardzumian.
At the meeting discussed were issues related to the situation created by the pandemic, economic difficulties, opportunities and ways to overcome them. The interlocutors agreed that the challenge can be addressed only through joint efforts. The representatives of the ARF presented their views on possible avenues to address the situation.
The interlocutors exchanged also views on the country’s internal and foreign agenda issues. They also discussed a number of the pan-national agenda items, including events dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, the 100th anniversary of the Treaty of Sèvres, and the forthcoming anniversary of the First Republic.
The President of Armenia was informed on some of the events planned by the ARF which, conditioned by the existing situation, have been temporarily postponed.
The also spoke about the President’s initiative to create an all-national park - Hay Park. The guests hailed this initiative of a national scope which is aimed at the enforcement of national unity.
