President Armen Sarkissian had a distant conversation with the RA Distinguished Artist, Laureate of international contests Anahit Mkhitarian: temporary pause doesn’t mean disruption of the ties between the audiences and artists
Last year, at the initiative of President Armen Sarkissian in the framework of the Presidential Concert series, a night of the Armenian romance was organized at the Presidential Palace. That day, the audience was present at the unforgettable event with the participation of a gem and prima of the A. Spendiarian Opera and Ballet National Academic Theater, the RA Distinguished Artist, three times gold winner of international contests and laureate of three Grand Prix Anahit Mkhitarian.
Conditioned by the coronavirus pandemic, the cultural life, like many other spheres of our life, has taken a mandatory pause. However, even self-isolated at home, artists cannot withdraw within, moreover, they need to create. This is what the singer told the President during their distant conversation and noted that staying home, she continues to sing. Certainly, it is not a performance for the concert stage or a hall filled with thousands, but life goes on.
President Armen Sarkissian inquired about future plans of Anahit Mkhitarian, which as it is the case with many artists, have been temporarily suspended. The President encouraged the performer to continue with her artistic work and noted that her creative activities are in demand with the art lovers and this temporary pause doesn’t mean the disruption of the ties between the audiences and artists. The President of Armenia and prima discussed the possibility of having an online “concert”.
It is envisaged that in the future too, the cooperation with the singer in the framework of the Presidential concert series will continue.
