Gyumri as a unique cultural phenomenon needs not only special exploration but also special attitude and care: President Sarkissian conversed with the RA Distinguished Artist and sculptor from Gyumri Albert Vardanian

In summer of 2019, President Armen Sarkissian in Akhurian was hosted at the studio of the sculptor Albert Vardanian where familiarized with his works.

RA Distinguished Artist Albert Vardanian has participated to multiple state and international exhibitions. His works, which blend successfully together the modern art and national mentality, are exhibited in the United States, France, Germany, Denmark and other places, and certainly in his native Gyumri.

Almost a year after their previous meeting, the President of Armenia and Albert Vardanian spoke again, this time it was a distant conversation. The President inquired about the artist’s works under the current conditions and ongoing projects. The conversation with the sculptor was related to his present activities and future plans. In this context, Albert Vardanian spoke of his project named “Action and Reaction” and dedicated to the victims of March 1, 2008 events, and its progression. The project is the winner of the contest held earlier.

Quite naturally, Gyumri was also referred to in the conversation as a unique cultural phenomenon which needs not only special exploration but also special attitude and care.

President Sarkissian encouraged the sculptor from Gyumri to continue his creative works and noted that neither time or circumstances could limit the imagination and creative explorations of the artist.
