President of Armenia continues a distant conversation series with representatives of culture and arts

President Armen Sarkissian continues a distant conversation series with the heads of Armenia’s cultural, educational, scientific, and academic establishments, representatives of culture and arts.

President Sarkissian had a phone conversation with a composer, the founding President and Creative Director of the Yerevan Perspectives international musical festival, Stepan Rostomian.

The President of Armenia inquired about the activities of the composer under the existing condition, programs planned before the epidemic of the coronavirus and their future, and the forthcoming projects.

The President and composer spoke about issues related to the Yerevan Perspectives international musical festival, opportunities of cooperation with renowned artists and musicians.

President Sarkissian expressed hope that after the situation has settled down, it would be possible to carry out all the envisaged projects and programs, at the same time to use this pause to create new pieces and outline new programs.

President Armen Sarkissian spoke also on the phone with the co-author of the series of frescoes named “Glorious Armenian Letters and Schooling” installed at the Saint Mesrop Mashtots Church in Oshakan, Martin Minsassin, the son of the artist Hovhannes Minassian.

Together with the RA People’s Artist Henrik Mamian, Hovhaness Minassian created the “Glorious Armenian Letters and Schooling” frescos at the Saint Mesrop Mashtots Church in Oshakan. At the end of last year, through the assistance of President Sarkissian, the fresco, parts of which through the years were damaged, was fully restored. Currently, the fresco has been restored to its original form.

The interlocutors stressed the importance of preserving cultural assets and care toward our national heritage. President Sarkissian inquired also about Martin Minassian’s works and future programs.
