President Armen Sarkissian spoke today on the phone with the President of the State of Israel Reuven Rivlin.

The Presidents exchanged information on the situation with the coronavirus in their respective countries, steps aimed at the prevention and containment of the infection.

Considering the fact that Israel has one of the best in the world medical and healthcare systems, developed and progressive, based on scientific innovations, President Sarkissian noted that Israel’s assistance in the form of expert consulting, as well as providing equipment and devices would be a great help for Armenia in our efforts to contain the outbreak of the coronavirus.

According to the agreement reached by Armen Sarkissian and Reuven Rivlin, in order to conduct more practical and specialized discussions, today or tomorrow a phone call will be organized between the officials of the healthcare structures at the executive authorities of the two countries. In case of necessity and to evaluate the needs, the specialists will also conduct a videoconference in the extended format.

During the conversation, the two Presidents spoke also about President Sarkissian’s visit to the State of Israel to participate at the Fifth World Holocaust Forum and reached agreements. It should be noted that during the mentioned visit the President of Armenia had meetings with the President of Israel and Speaker of the Knesset during which he raised the issue of recognition by the Knesset of the Armenian Genocide. President Armen Sarkissian also spoke at the two best universities of Israel.
