Series of lectures and Presidential contest: President Armen Sarkissian has initiated a series of lectures for students through distant learning

President Armen Sarkissian has initiated a series of on-line lectures which in the current situation aims to ensure a continuous eduction for students applying the method of distant learning.

In this framework, President Sarkissian gave today the on-line lecture for a group of students of the Departments of Mathematics and Mechanics, Physics, Computer Science and Applied Mathematics, as well as the students of the Department of Oriental Studies of the Yerevan State University.

The class lasted for 45 minutes: the President spoke on the topics pertinent to these areas and in this context about the spread of the coronavirus in the world. To make the classes more substantive as well as to enhance the educational and research faculties of the students, President Armen Sarkissian gave and assignment in the form of contest and said that the end of emergency situation would be the deadline for the contest.

In particular, addressing the students of the humanitarian areas, the President suggested to write about the changes in the contemporary Middle East. The papers may be about Armenia-Middle East relations as well as about the significance of the Middle East for Russia, Europe, and the United States.

For future physics and mathematicians, he suggested to present papers on the following topics: mathematical modeling of the spread and prevention of global risks-global pandemics (e.g. coronavirus), avenues to overcome global risks (technological, scientific, healthcare related, etc.).

The purpose of the students’ context is to boost distant learning and development of the digital education. Students from Armenia and Artsakh, as well as Armenian students residing abroad can participate to this contest.

The esseys should not exceed 20 pages. The papers (in the Word format) on the humanitarian topics should be sent to homework1@president.am electronic mail, while physics and mathematians should send their papers to homework2@president.am electronic mail. Please write down your name, last name, where you study (university, department, year) as well as your contact information (phone, e-mail address).
The authors of the best papers will receive Presidential award.
