President Armen Sarkissian met with the Minister of Justice Rustam Badassian

President Armen Sarkissian had a working meeting with the Minister of Justice Rustam Badassian.

The interlocutors spoke about the agenda of constitutional changes in Armenia, judicial reforms, fight against corruption, protection of human rights, international cooperation in other areas, and a number of other issues.

The Minister of Justice informed President Sarkissian on the works of the expert commission on constitutional changes.

President Armen Sarkissian stressed the importance of constitutional changes and said that the Constitution is a legal document existing and evolving under the real time challenges.

According to the President, any change or improvement of the Constitution must be based on the rule of law and promote a shock free and natural development of our state.

President Sarkissian presented also his ideas and approaches related to the constitutional changes. He noted the importance of the participation of as many segments of the society as possible in the drafting of the main law of our country. Armen Sarkissian said that the Presidential Administration stands ready to cooperate through proposals and capacities with the Ministry and also with the expert commission on constitutional changes.

The parties highlighted the importance of such meetings.
