President Armen Sarkissian received Karl-Heinz Scheide
President Armen Sarkissian received today Karl-Heinz Scheide, who is responsible for the charity programs implemented by the Baden-Wurttemberg branch of the German Red Cross in Armenia.
The President of Armenia hailed humanitarian programs implemented in Armenia and expressed gratitude for the work which the organization has been doing through the years and continues today.
Karl-Heinz Scheide noted that he wanted to continue to assist Armenia and together with his friends, who think like him, for the last 18 years has been implementing the Charity Kitchen program which becomes bigger by year, increasing the number of its beneficiaries. The parties spoke of the future programs. President Sarkissian proposed to think about establishing small individual smallholdings which would consume own production, create new jobs, thus making the program self-sufficient and steady. Karl-Heinz Scheide eagerly accepted the proposal and assessed it as an excellent idea.
The German Red Cross started its activities in Armenia in 1988, right after the earthquake in Spitak. It participated actively in the rescue operations, the brought substantial and multifaceted assistance to the people affected by the earthquake in cooperation with the Armenian Red Cross.
By the decree of the President of Armenia, Karl-Heinz Scheide for his dedicated humanitarian work in 2018 was awarded the RA Medal of Gratitude.
