President Armen Sarkissian received Ambassador of Japan to Armenia: good base for the expansion of cooperation
President Armen Sarkissian received today the Ambassador of Japan to Armenia Jun Yamada.
The Ambassador of Japan expressed gratitude to the President of Armenia on behalf of the government of Japan for visiting his country last October and participation to the accession ceremony of the Japanese Emperor. He noted that the meetings in Tokyo gave a new impetus to the development of the bilateral relations.
In his turn, President Sarkissian said that he had wonderful memories and impressions of his visit to Japan and historic events dedicated to the accession of Emperor Naruhito.
Assessing positively his meetings with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and heads of major Japanese companies, President Sarkissian said that they have created a good base for the expansion of cooperation. Noting that days ago he had a meeting with the Chairman of the Board of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, President of Armenia said that he invited him and his colleagues to visit Armenia to continue discussions and design of joint programs in the areas of high technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, management of large-volume data in the framework of the Presidential АТОМ (Advanced Tomorrow) initiatives.
They also discussed issues related to nuclear safety and regulations, including enlarged cooperation in the area of nuclear waste management.
