Court is first and foremost the judge who interacts with the citizens: swearing in ceremony for the newly appointed judges took place at the Presidential Palace

Today, at the Presidential Palace, in the presence of the President of Armenia the swearing in ceremony of the newly appointed judges of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan Daniel Mkheyan and Armine Meliksetian, judges of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Ararat and Vayots Dzor marzes Marianna Stepanian and Garnik Stepanian took place.

President Armen Sarkissian congratulated the newly appointed judge and wished them success in their responsible work. “You are assuming very responsible duties.
Responsibility today is much greater because in our society the attitude toward the judicial system is not simple. Speaking of a state structure, state, strength of a nation state and its stability, we view the judicial system as one of its pillars. The countries, in which the judicial system as a whole is stable, trustworthy, and independent, are truly stable countries,”
the President underscored and added that thanks to a strong and healthy judicial system many countries were able to find smooth solutions to their problems and difficulties.

“Your and our common task is to make our country not only truly democratic, not only modern but also, first and foremost, a stable country. That sense of stability the citizens receive during their interactions with the courts. The more unpredictable the court, the less transparent it is, the more negligent with the time allocated for its procedures, the greater is instability and mistrust,”
the President noted. “The problems are rampant, there are also structural problems. There are even problems related probably to the constitutional or other laws. However, the court is not an abstract body. The court is first and foremost the judge who interacts with this or that citizen or organization. You are the embodiment of justice, which means you are different in the tasks set before you: you have to ensure independent, fair and law-based justice. I wish you all every success, you are all young, I wish you years-long impeccable service for the benefit our Fatherland, our country.”
