President Armen Sarkissian hosted His Royal Highness Prince Radu
President Armen Sarkissian hosted today His Royal Highness Prince Radu of Romania who is in Armenia at the invitation of the President of Armenia.
President welcomed Prince Radu’s visit to our country and noted that it promotes the historically formed friendly relations between our peoples.
The Prince of Romania said that he was impressed with the history and historical heritage of the Armenian people. Noting that the two nations have many similarities when it comes to history, traditions, and the system of values, he noted that was ready within the scope of his authorities to do more to establish closer relations between the two friendly nations.
In this context, the sides stressed in particular the role of the Armenian community of Romania which is one of the oldest Armenian communities in Europe and serves as a bridge between the two states.
His Royal Highness Prince Radu is the spouse of Margareta – the daughter of the last king of Romania, Michael. She has the title of the Custodian of the Romanian Crown. The royal house of Romania has no constitutional rights but possesses moral authority as the protector of national traditions and values. Prince Radu is a member of a number of charity organizations.
