President Armen Sarkissian will participate at the official ceremony of enthronement of Emperor of Japan Naruhito

At the invitation of the Government of Japan, President Armen Sarkissian and Mrs. Nouneh Sarkissian on October 19 will leave for Tokyo to participate at the official ceremony of enthronement of Emperor Naruhito.

The 85-year-old Emperor Akihito abdicated last April. He was succeeded by his 59-year-old son, heir of the throne Naruhito. The enthronement ceremonies for the new Emperor comprise among other things an official dinner as well as an official reception.

President Armen Sarkissian will participate at the reception offered by the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzō Abe. This event will be attended by the presidents and prime ministers of different countries, other high-level officials. During his working visit to Japan, President Armen Sarkissian will hold bilateral meetings with presidents and prime ministers of different states.

Armen Sarkissian will also visit the Tokyo Stock Exchange, Japanese Agency on Nuclear Management, and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries – one of the world’s leading industrial and technological companies.

The President of Armenia will also have meetings with the leaders of a number of major Japanese companies to encourage them to visit Armenia, familiarize with the opportunities and prospects of cooperation. President Armen Sarkissian will give a lecture at the University of Tokyo.
