“Reforming the World” special award of Film Festival was bestowed upon the President of Armenia
President Armen Sarkissian received today the founder of the “Reforming the World” festival, a well-known producer and director, the head of the American film company Associated Television International David McKenzie, and a group of co-founders and organizers of the festival.
The guests informed Armen Sarkissian on the first “Reforming the World” Film and TV programs festival organized in Yerevan in the framework of Aurora Forum which is dedicated to human rights, observance and development of the principles of humanity. They also informed about their future programs and noted that were planning to organize the festival every year and through it to invite the world’s attention to Armenia and humanity in general.
David McKenzie informed that it was decided that the special Humanitarian Award of the festival would go to President Sarkissian for his great contribution to a peaceful transformation of power in Armenia, for his humanitarian activities and contribution to the area of protection of human rights. He handed to President Armen Sarkissian the certificate of the Award.
President Sarkissian said it was a great honor to receive such award and hailed the input of David McKenzie and his colleagues in the founding and organization of the festival, contribution to humanism and protection of human rights. The President addressed words of commendation to the guests for referring in their works to the Armenian Genocide. The guests informed the President of their programs of cooperating more closely with Armenia and noted in particular that they intend to open a film school in Armenia which would become a partner of the School functioning in Los Angeles.
President Sarkissian welcomed their intention and expressed readiness to assist as much as possible to their initiatives aimed at the development of cooperation with Armenia.
