President Sarkissian met alumni of Stanford University: Armenia in the 21st century will have greater opportunities
President Armen Sarkissian hosted today a group of alumni of the American Stanford University.
The President welcomed the alumni, who have arrived from different countries, and conversed with them in a congenial, Q&A format and touched upon many issues. The President noted in particular that for thousands of years Armenia has been a cradle and crossroad of civilizations.
“We have always been here, facing different challenges, going through different tragedies. In the 21st century everything will be transforming rapidly. One needs to be changing fast and dynamic, to be able to make swift decisions and adapt to the environment. I believe in the 21st century Armenia will have greater opportunities,” President noted.
He underscored that challenges of the contemporary world should be perceived as opportunities. The President of Armenia said that Armenia has opportunities to become a pioneer in the development of modern technologies. In his words, a number of Presidential initiatives are aimed at that very purpose.
The aim is to turn Armenia into a center of artificial intelligence, management of large volumes of information, and mathematical modeling. Speaking of our country’s development prospects, Armen Sarkissian said that special attention should be paid to the development of agriculture infrastructure and focus of the future - high technologies.
