Armenia will host STARMUS 6th festival: President Sarkissian received organizers of the festival
President Armen Sarkissian hosted today the creator and founder of the science and arts international festival, Armenian astrophysicist Garik Israelian and Chief Manager of the festival Iniaki Sorosa. At the meeting discussed were organizational and time-related issues of the STARMUS 6th festival which is scheduled to take place next year in Armenia.
The idea to hold the STARMUS 6th festival in Armenia belongs to President Sarkissian: He reached the agreement with the organizers to hold it next year in Armenia during the STARMUS 5th festival in Zurich.
The festival brings together renowned scientists, astronauts, musicians, Noble Prize laureates and aims at inspiring and educating new generations of researchers and making science attractive for the young people. Members of the STARMUS council are cosmonaut Alexei Leonov, Brian May of Queen rock group, world famous scientist Emmanuel Charpantier, astrophysicists Jill Tarter and Robert Williams, musician Peter Gabriel, the author of the idea and founder of the festival, Armenian astrophysicist Garik Israelian, other renowned representatives of arts and science.
