President Sarkissian hosted delegation headed by the Minister of Defense of Lebanon: Armenia and Lebanon possess potential for deepening the mutually beneficial cooperation in various areas

President Armen Sarkissian hosted today the Minister of National Defense of Lebanon Elias Bou Saab and his delegation. Present at the meeting was also the RA Minister of Defense David Tonoyan.

President Sarkissian welcomed the visit of the delegation to Armenia and efforts aimed at the expansion and development of the relations between the two friendly states.

President Sarkissian underscored that he encourages the deepening of cooperation not only in the defense and military areas but in other areas too, including high technologies, tourism, and culture. Minister Elias Bou Saab concurred that the two countries have a huge potential and opportunities for enhancing the cooperation in different areas also because the Armenian community of Lebanon is a bridge between the two countries.

He noted that he has many Armenian-Lebanese friends and Armenia and Armenian culture are close to him. The interlocutors stressed the special role of the Armenian-Lebanese community and agreed that the existence of the community creates a strong base for the development of the relations in all areas.

President Sarkissian expressed readiness to support within the scope of his abilities each initiative aimed at the deepening of cooperation between the two friendly states.
