President Sarkissian hosted a delegation of the Armenian EyeCare Project Fund and Pediatric Hospital of Los Angeles

President Armen Sarkissian hosted today a delegation of the Armenian EyeCare Project Fund and Pediatric Hospital of Los Angeles headed by the President of the Fund, Armenian-American ophthalmologist Dr. Roger Ohanessian.

At the meeting, the President was briefed on the ongoing and forthcoming programs of the Armenian EyeCare Project Fund. It was noted that while in the first years of the Fund’s existence, programs were aimed at the vision restoration, in recent years the focus is on the prevention of blindness, particularly programs are implemented to prevent blindness of children. Besides, the implementation of educational programs is viewed as important, and they are implemented in the public as we as well specialized education areas.

President Sarkissian thanked the guests for the works carried out in Armenia and continuous programs implemented in Armenia as well as for their activities aimed at the development of ophthalmology. “I am proud that our compatriots in Spyurk are cooperating with the colleagues in Armenia, share their experience and knowledge,” the President of Armenia noted and wished them every success in their future works.
