President Sarkissian visited the apartment-studio of the RA People’s Artist Hakop Hakopian: “I love Hakop’s works very much”

President Armen Sarkissian visited today the apartment-studio of the RA People’s Artist, Laureate of the Armenian State Award Hakop Hakopian.

Accompanied by the widow of the artist Mary and daughter Nora, the President observed his paintings and unique sculptures. “I love Hakop’s works very much. They have serenity within,” President Sarkissian noted and added that Hakop Hakopian was an exceptional artist.

The President familiarized with the programs related to the artistic heritage of the master. Hakopian’s daughter told about the dream of having a Hakop Hakopian museum.“Armenia’s strength is in its science and culture. We have never been a muscle or power country. Our entire culture is very spiritual, not material. Our strength and charm in the eyes of the world is in our spiritual beauty and our ability to live in it,” the daughter of the artist said.

The President and Hakopian’s family members agreed that the artist’s museum will be of a great value for our country. The widow of H. Hakopian, Mrs Mary noted that it was a great honor to host the President and a longtime friend. “I love my country and my people very much. It is important that generations live well in our country, stay here, and create in our Fatherland,” President Sarkissian noted.

Armen Sarkissian told about his initiative to organize different cultural events at the Presidential Palace. There is an intention in the framework of this initiative to demonstrate also the creations of our great masters. The President said that his undertaking pursues one goal - to remember once again our great masters whose legacy is profound and whose works are of great value. Hakop Hakopian is among the best of the best.
