President Sarkissian met in Geneva with the GLF delegation: Counseling of the World Leaders Foundation can be useful and valuable
President Armen Sarkissian, who is in Switzerland on a working visit, met in Geneva with a delegation of the Global Leadership Foundation (GLF) which comprised the former President of Switzerland Micheline Calmy-Rey, US Permanent Representative to the UN in 1989-92 Thomas Pickering, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations for 2011-2017 Hervé Ladsous, and the GLF Projects Director Amitav Banerji.
The representatives of the GLF assessed as useful and important the recent visit to our country, which they had conducted at the invitation of President Sarkissian, during which through different meetings, discussions, and exchange of opinions they were able to get informed how and in what areas they could assist Armenia in its advancement.
Stressing the importance of strengthening democratic institutions and values in the process of the country’s development, President Sarkissian noted that with this regard the counseling of the Global Leadership Foundation can be useful and valuable.
The Global Leadership Foundation is an independent structure which assists political leaders all over the world, bringing to them the experience of former heads of state and government, high-level officials, and renowned figures.
Since its establishment in 2004, the GLF has been providing counseling in many areas. Members of the Foundation are former high ranking officials and leaders. President Armen Sarkissian was a member of the GLF Board in 2006-2013.
