President met with the renowned scientist and inventor of the Armenian descent Raymond Damadian

President Armen Sarkissian hosted today the famous Armenian scientist, inventor and physician Raymond Damadian who is the creator of the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) device.

President Sarkissian welcomed the visit of the renowned scientist to Fatherland and expressed gratitude for his revolutionary scientific invention in the medical area.

The scientist told the President of Armenia about his works and programs as well as about the possibilities of the new and improved MRI.

The interlocutors discussed the prospects of cooperation with Armenia’s medical and scientific circles. President Sarkissian noted that Armenia possesses a great potential for development in the area of high technologies and artificial intelligence in particular and proposed to consider the possibility of implementing joint programs with the Armenian specialists.
