President hosted representatives of the Surb Grigor Lusavorich Seminary Alumni Union in Beirut

President Armen Sarkissian hosted today the representatives of the Surb Grigor Lusavorich Seminary Alumni Union in Beirut who have arrived to Armenia to convene the meeting of their administrative body. They informed the President that among their goals was to commemorate the 100th birth anniversary of the former assiduous Director of the Seminary Sahak Vardapet Keshishian and celebrate his memory.

The President of Armenia welcomed their intention and offered to help any needy educational establishment in Gyumri, considering the fact that in the past Sahak Vardapet Keshishian was carrying out spiritual and cultural works in Gyumri. “The greatest values we created and possess should be passed to other generations. It is no accident that Sahak Vardapet focused his attention on Gyumri. It has been one of our historical, educational, and cultural centers and should continue to be such,” President Sarkissian said.

The guests accepted the proposal readily and presented other initiatives dedicated to the memory of Sahak Vardapet.
