Armen Sarkissian received the UAE State Minister: Meetings of the President of Armenia with the leadership of the UAE set guidelines for cooperation

President Armen Sarkissian received today the State Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Co-Chairman of the Armenia-UAE Joint Intergovernmental Commission Ahmed Ali Al-Sayegh and his delegation.

The President greeted the guest and welcomed the first session of the Intergovernmental Commission. He also expressed confidence that all agreements reached during his recent visit to the UAE would be called to life. President Sarkissian expressed readiness to assist in their implementation.

The UAE State Minister Ahmed Ali Al-Sayegh thanked for the meeting and said that
the meetings of the President of Armenia with the leadership of the country, held in the framework of his recent visit to the Emirates, had set guidelines for his discussions in Armenia related to different areas. He also informed that the initial meetings of the Armenia-UAE Joint Intergovernmental Commission have already taken place, and certain agreements have been reached on a number of important issues.

The Co-Chairman of the Armenia-UAE Joint Intergovernmental Commission said that he was expecting a closer cooperation in the areas of economy, education, culture, new technologies, and others. The State Minister of the United Arab Emirates noted that there already exist successful cases of the activities carried out by the UAE and stressed the importance of their further expansion as well as the established presence of the Armenian entrepreneurs at the Emirates’ market.
