President Armen Sarkissian received the leader and secretary of the My Step fraction of the National Assembly

President Armen Sarkissian initiated a series of meetings with the fractions of the National Assembly.

Today, President Sarkissian met with the leader of the ruling political force My Step Lilit Makunts and the secretary of the fraction Hakop Simidian.

President Sarkissian noted that under the parliamentary system of governance, the National Assembly has pretty active and extensive work to do in creating legislation as well as in the area of parliamentary diplomacy.

Lilit Makunts presented the main directions of their fraction’s activities, as well as the details of the official visit to Germany of the parliamentary delegation headed by the Speaker of the Parliament and agreements reached there.

The President of Armenia and members of the Parliament spoke about the works of the National Assembly, activities at different international platforms, inter-parliamentary relations, as well as discussed issues related to science and education. They also stressed the importance of harmonized works of the legislature and other branches of power.

President Armen Sarkissian expressed readiness within the scope of his constitutional authorities to cooperate with the National Assembly and to assist in its works.
