President Sarkissian and Speaker of the NA stressed the importance of the Parliament’s active work

President Armen Sarkissian met today with the Speaker of the National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan.

President Sarkissian congratulated once again the Speaker on the commencement of the works of the National Assembly of the seventh convocation and expressed confidence that the National Assembly would do its best for the country’s advancement.

The parties concurred that under the parliamentary system of governance the National Assembly has much to do. The interlocutors stressed the importance of the Parliament’s active work in the area of legislation as well as in the parliamentary diplomacy.

Ararat Mirzoyan thanked the President for the meeting and noted that the NA is an important platform for shaping a new political culture, dialogue, and common work and said that he was hopeful that all forces represented in the Parliament would cooperate efficiently in the name of the New Armenia and its people.

President Sarkissian expressed readiness within the scope of his authority to cooperate with the National Assembly and support the activities of the legislature.
