Scietific and research cooperation aimed into future
President Armen Sarkissian hosted today the President of the National Research Council of Italy, Professor Massimo Inguscio.
Last time, President Sarkissian met with Professor Inguscio in November in Rome and invited him to Armenia to discuss concrete areas of cooperation.
Welcoming the guest, President Sarkissian said, “It’s always a great pleasure to meet with a friend. I believe this visit and the possible cooperation are important not only from the scientific point of view: It is also important for the society, social behavior, even for politics. We are entering a new world and that new world will be ruled predominantly by new ideas, new approaches where the quantum approach will be among the leading ones.”
Expressing gratitude for the invitation, the President of the National Research Council of Italy said in particular, “In Italy, Armenia is perceived as a strategic country of the highest level. The President of our country views science as a powerful and strong tool aimed into future. In this context, our decision made in November to visit the Academy of Sciences of Armenia was important.”
President Sarkissian and the President of the National Research Council of Italy spoke about the prospects of deepening the Armenian-Italian scientific cooperation and expansion of scientific and educational ties.
President Sarkissian proposed to consider the possibility to establish relations between the scientists and research institutes of the two countries, opportunities to jointly implement scientific programs. He noted that Armenia lacks major financial resources but possesses talented scientists.
Accordiing to Armen Sarkissian, the two countries can successfully cooperate particularly in the mathematical modeling of artificial logic, efficient administration of water resources, and other areas.
