President Armen Sarkissian was present at the oath taking ceremony of the President-elect of Georgia
Today, the delegation headed by the President of Armenia was present at the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili which took place at the palace of Irakli II in Telavi town of Georgia.
Before the ceremony, President Armen Sarkissian, responding to the questions of journalists said in particular, “Armenia and Georgia, as well as our two nations, have millennia-long friendly and brotherly relations. We are truly brotherly nations. It’s more than natural that the President of Armenia is present here today when Georgia elected a new president.
I congratulate Georgia and the President of the country. I wish Georgia and the new President success for the coming years.
I am looking forward to working with the President of Georgia, the government and parliament of the country, and most importantly, with the people to further strengthen our relations.”
In the framework of the event, President Sarkissian had brief conversations with the heads of the delegations present at the ceremony and a group of guests.
