President Sarkissian received the Heads of the CIS monitoring mission
President Armen Sarkissian received today the First Deputy Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Victor Guminski and head of the headquarters of the CIS monitoring mission Evgeni Sloboda who have arrived to Armenia to monitor the December 9 snap parliamentary elections.
Noting that the monitoring mission comprises over 80 observers from 8 countries, Mr. Guminski presented the mandate of the mission, their assessment and observations regarding the organization of the election process and the pre-election campaign. The parties spoke also about the further development of cooperation in the framework of the CIS.
President Sarkissian stressed the importance of expanding cooperation, particularly in the trade and economic, scientific, educational and cultural areas, and the necessity to fully use the existing great potential.
