Armen Sarkissian: I am optimistic about the future of the Armenian-Italian relations
President Sarkissian received today delegation headed by the Vice President of the Italian Senate Paola Taverna which includes also senators Gianluca Castaldi, Vito Vattuone, and Mauro Del Barba.
They have arrived to Armenia as part of the OSCE monitoring mission to observe the snap parliamentary elections of December 9.
Noting that Armenia currently is undergoing cardinal changes, President Sarkissian stressed the importance of advancing in the strengthening of democracy and expressed confidence that the elections will be free and fair.
The parties spoke also about the Armenian-Italian relations and concurred that they develop successfully.
President Sarkissian said that he was optimistic about the future of the Armenian-Italian relations.
He stressed in particular the great potential in the economic and cultural areas and the necessity to expand cooperation.
Noting that certain Italian companies are working in Armenia already, while some have expressed interest towards our country, the President of Armenia said that conditioned by the membership to the Eurasian Economic Union, Armenia may become a bridge between the EAEU and EU which opens new opportunities for foreign entrepreneurs and investors.
